Loans By Kathy: Getting Motivated - #1

Getting Motivated - #1

Okay, it's Sunday night again.  How are you going to get yourself motivated for Monday?  Do you need someone to light fire under you?

One of the best ways to motivate ourselves is to plan your day. When we plan our day, and have our tasks outlined, we know where we need to be and when. As we check off each of these tasks, we increase our sense of purpose and develop a feeling of accomplishment.

Planning and organizing your time is the most important skill to learn. It's the difference between being proactive versus reactive. As the day goes on inevitably issues will present themselves that will require our immediate attention. We will be more effective if we know that our scheduled tasks also require our attention.

A carefully planned day will take one third the time of an un-planned day. That is a powerful statistic. In addition to having more time, I believe when the day is done you will find a greater sense of pride, accomplishment, and motivation to take on the next day.

Are you motivated yet?

Heck, I just have to look at my check book and that is a great motivator.

Kathy motivation has never been a week spot for me. I'm one of those that knows what I want and goes for it.  On the other hand...I've done a lot of training for agents over the years and I know for a fact that if it doesn't come from within  - nobody can motivate you for long.  If it's to be it's up to me!! That's my motto! Have a GREAT week!!

You are absolutely right. You must plan your day before you are right in the middle of it.I am naturally very reactive.  Creating  a schedule and sticking to it ,makes a huge difference in my day.Thank you for the reminder.

Vern, nice to know where to look for motivation!

Anna, I am with you.  I like to share with others.

Caprice, the key is to address the issue and get back to your schedule.

I've been so much better about getting things done since I started a To Do List a couple years ago.  What a difference some focus can make to your day.

Chris, even with all of the technology, I still use a written list!
